2016 – 2017 NEFA Competitive Group

Membership in the NEFA Pre-Competitive Program

The Pre-Competitive Program is designed to bridge the gap between Recreational Fencing and Competitive Fencing.

Pre-Competitive Group members will learn excellent time management skills. One must balance home life, academics, fencing, and other activities.

Requirements

· Minimum age of eleven years old.
· Continuous enrollment from September through June.
· Consistent Wednesday and Thursday enrollment is mandatory.
· Fencing Equipment: Members need a complete competitive uniform. Also, one needs a minimum of two working electric foils, two body cords, and two mask cords

Parents and fencers must realize that commitment to fencing must be the same as commitment to an orchestra, theater group, or sports team.

The Pre-Competitive Program meets Wednesday and Thursday at the Thompson Elementary School, 187 Everett Street, Arlington, MA.
